Billionaire Tesla owner Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), the alleged cost-cutting arm of the Trump administration, have set their sights on several major government agencies, including the United States Agency for International Development, the Department of Education and the General Services Administration.
Some Republicans applaud these moves as long-overdue efforts to cut government waste, streamline operations and eliminate inefficiency. Democrats, however, argue that these are illegal attacks on essential government functions that protect American national security, safeguard the environment, provide education, manage international aid and more.
Watch the video above as Straight Arrow News contributor Dr. Rashad Richey examines DOGE’s actions and speculates that its ultimate goal may be the complete privatization of the U.S. government.
The following is an excerpt from the above video:
What if DOGE is actually a way for a government agency, created by Trump, with Elon at the helm, taking [sic] over all aspects of federal government work? Well, the first thing you have to do is downsize. You have to downsize because it is simply too massive in order to manage it.
Second, you would need to have access — significant access. Third, you would change things based on your lens of — let’s just call it — MAGA. And what if the plan is to privatize DOGE in the future, after they have successfully taken over the institutional authorities?
And now they have the knowledge, the access, the control and the nod from Trump. What if? What if the plan is to privatize the federal government as we know it?
Just what if?
