In countries around the world – including Argentina, Italy, Canada and the United States – working class voters are rising up against governments that have spent recklessly, censored their ability to communicate and receive information, imposed irresponsible immigration policies, and undermined the rule of law.
Despite progressive activists demonizing those who object to these policies, voters are saying enough is enough. They want commonsense policies that treat everyone equally, prioritize public safety, limit public spending, and protect national sovereignty.
In August 2023, Argentina had a poverty rate of more than 40 percent, the third-highest inflation rate in the world, and a seriously devalued currency. Fascist governments, overly demanding labor unions and socialist policies had wreaked havoc on a country that was once one of the wealthiest in the world.
Argentine voters responded by electing a conservative president who shut down 13 government agencies and reduced the federal workforce by about 10 percent. He reduced the federal budget by 30 percent and produced a budget surplus by May 2024. Inflation dropped from 25 percent at the end of 2023 to 2.4 percent by the end of 2024.
Argentina’s president told world’s elites in Davos that modern environmentalism, radical feminism and liberal social justice ideas were corroding the moral foundations of the West. He strongly criticized the United Nations and expressed strong support for Israel.
In Italy, a conservative coalition advocated for reduced spending on welfare programs (particularly for immigrants), prioritizing energy supply over the green agenda, reducing the powers of the judiciary, and limiting abortion.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced that he’ll soon be resigning. His support for massive immigration contributed to higher crime rates, increases in housing prices, displaced domestic workers, and greater pressure on Canada’s health care system.
Trudeau’s suppression of free speech was met with substantial backlash and his extreme green energy policies stifled economic growth. The leader of Canada’s Conservative Party is calling for a return to commonsense policies and his party seems poised for a major victory in the coming months.
Donald Trump ran on a platform of stopping illegal immigration, reducing spending and the size of the Federal Government, unleashing American energy production, protecting free speech, ensuring public safety, and ending DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) policies that undermine the principles of equal opportunity and personal accountability.
The progressive left will resist Trump’s efforts just as they are doing in countries around the world. However, the consequences of their extreme agenda are now apparent to many voters. Trump and likeminded leaders must deliver on their promises, and show that they are committed to the commonsense policies voters are expecting.
Voters are demanding a global course correction

The reelection of President Trump in the U.S., along with the rise of far-right populist figures like Javier Milei in Argentina, Giorgia Meloni in Italy, and Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre in Canada, reflects a growing backlash against traditional politicians. Economic struggles, frustration with government “elites,” and debates over cultural issues like gender ideology are driving this shift.
Watch the video above as Straight Arrow News contributor Star Parker explains how working-class voters in these countries are pushing back against governments they believe have undermined the rule of law. Similarly, in the U.S., Parker argues that President Trump must fulfill his promises to “prioritize public safety, limit public spending, and protect national sovereignty.”
