Okay, what happened to back the blue? You know, support the police doesn’t really matter what they do. There’s a growing concern about police officers getting away with anything. And then there’s this concern where police officers literally are being called into a prosecutorial dynamic by people like former President Trump.
You got to think about this. So Trump represents the back the blue crowd. At a rally years ago he told police officers, “don’t mind you can rough up people while arresting them, no problem.” Right. But now he’s calling for the prosecution of police officers, specifically Capitol Police, Federal Police. And why is he calling for their prosecution? He’s calling for the prosecution. Because basically, he doesn’t like the fact that they are prosecuting his base, the January 6 terrorist. Let me explain why that is base.
Individuals who went there obviously went there because they were animated by Donald Trump himself. Donald Trump has claimed he had nothing to do with it, but has supported them every step of the way, including making a mixtape with some of them, ironically. Now, he has decided to re truth on his social media platform, a particular comment. The comment says, and I quote, “The Capitol police or the Capitol cops beat the hell out of innocent J. Six protesters, and the videos are finally coming out. The cops should be charged and protesters should be freed. This is why the uni-party didn’t want the videos released.”
So he retweeted that or re truthed that. Okay, and what does that mean? What does that say? That says Donald Trump is not concerned about the fact these individuals attempted to overthrow democracy. But he never was concerned. Any concern he expressed was out of pressure from individuals who still have some common sense around him. That is gone. That is gone. He has decided to go full, 100% adverse to democracy, not antithetical to America, antithetical to what makes America stand democracy itself.
He has given you the blueprint as to what he will do when he’s back in office if he’s granted power again. Now to those who are Republicans, according to the data, only 30% of Republicans or conservatives, actually are Trump supporters. That means that the overwhelming, numbers 70%, well, they are more traditional conservative. They care about the party platform and fiscal conservatism, etc. Why would you allow 30% of your party to completely defy 100% of what you represent? This is bigger than simply partisan elections. This is about the kind of country and the type of integrity we have. What are your thoughts?

By Straight Arrow News
On Jan. 6, 2021, over 2,000 pro-Trump insurrectionists stormed the Capitol following President Joe Biden’s election victory. A House committee investigated the attack, and in its final report, accused former President Donald Trump of inciting violence.
Hundreds of insurrectionists have been charged, and now — despite previously touting a pro-law enforcement position — Trump seems to be aligning with those seeking to prosecute Capitol Police officers.
Straight Arrow News contributor Dr. Rashad Richey asserts that Trump’s attempt to prosecute police officers is driven by a desire to shield his base — specifically, the violent insurrectionists. Richey argues that Trump’s actions reflect an anti-democratic stance, warning of a dangerous future if Trump is reelected.
