Trump-Vance ticket will implement nationwide abortion ban

Tulsi Gabbard, the vet Ramaswamy, Mark Rubio, Tim Scott, all were in the conversation of potential VP candidates for Donald Trump. But then there was one. JD Vance, the Ohio Senator whose claim to fame is a New York Times best selling novel, that slopped as a box office feature may seem judicious and mild mannered, but it appears Vance may be just as vindictive and petulant. As Trump, I’ll be a far more shrewd, intelligent and intent on rolling back our privacy rights, specifically our right to access abortion. The assassination attempt aside, given Trump’s age, there’s a very real possibility that Vance could end up in the Oval Office sometime in the next four or five years if Trump takes office. So regardless of whether or not Joe Biden throws in the towel, if Americans want to keep the government out of their bedrooms and away from their bodies, we need to vote blue. As much as JD Vance and his fellow Republicans at the RNC wanted to skirt the abortion issue. We can’t forget that JD Vance called for the enforcement of the Comstock Act. That is the 151 year old a federal law that banned the mailing of abortion related materials. This antiquated law was enacted shortly after the Civil War, really just as a means of forcing white women to bring up their baby numbers in the wake of population shifts, shall we say? Who would think to enforce the act more than a century later? Well, JD Vance. In a January 2023. Letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, Vance insisted that the act be resurrected, He demanded that the law be used to shut down all mail order abortion operations. Vance and 40 other Republicans pushed for the act to be used to prosecute women, physicians, pharmacists, and all who provide access to abortion, drugs, information and the like. Fortunately, Garland did not entertain advances demands as the Biden administration rightfully maintains that the Comstock Act is outdated. Unfortunately, if Trump is elected, Vance will be in a position to see that this act from 1873 is resuscitated and the harmful consequences will primarily befall those living in the 41 states that have abortion bans with limited exceptions, but also those living in states without bands will struggle as they won’t be able to access the abortion pill mifepristone via mail. And I won’t even get into how the Comstock Act is written broadly enough such that the Trump administration and his trusty cohort of judges could interpret the act to ban all medications and equipment used for abortions, effectively banning abortion nationwide. This is terrifying. Vance’s ascension to VP select is a five alarm fire and if Trump is elected, Well, the answer will be in the position to influence policies and prosecutions for accessing abortion. And if the 78 year old Trump doesn’t survive his four years in office, Vance will be directing the policies and prosecutions. No matter how rusty and dusty Joe Biden looks. Neither him nor Kamala Harris will infringe on our bodily autonomy, or abortion rights. The Trump ticket however, will strip away your individual privacy rights on a moment’s notice. That’s why in this moment, we now have noticed that we the people must vote for the party that protects and preserves our rights. We must vote blue
