I want to share with you an amazing briefing that I had recently from Scott Rasmussen. Scott’s a remarkable pollster, who originally created Rasmussen Reports. And he just has an amazing ability to think about the American people. And to ask questions that are very revealing. Scott noticed in some of his recent polling, that the whole process had just a handful of people who are different. He said, out of about 1000 people that he pulls twice a week, about four would show up. And he gradually pulled these people together and decided to you know, there are certain characteristics that are very different. They tend to have a graduate degree, not just an education, but a degree. So usually a PhD, they had tend to have about $150,000 Plus family income, and they live in cities that are very large, you have to have all three of those to be what he calls, the 1%. And in Scott Rasmussen is 1%, you begin to find attitudes that are very, very different from the rest of us. This is an elite group, which in Scotts opinion, grew out of a Woodrow Wilson article in the 1880s, calling for a scientific elite of civil servants, who would impose on the American people decisions, they weren’t capable of making themselves. And in Scott Rasmussen view, this group has over the course of over 100 years, grown into largely, I’m sorry, this group has gone into largely a elite 12. Universities in particular, are producing them the obvious ones, like Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Princeton, Berkeley, and the result is that from those universities, you get people who are so self aware of their elitism. It fits a book that Charles Murray wrote, called coming apart, in which he pointed out that people from elite universities, live in the same zip codes, send their children to the same schools, to marry each other, and form a totally different class from the rest of us. And notice, this isn’t a class based on income. It’s a class based on education level, and attitudes. And these people believe that the rest of us are basically ignorant and incompetent. Their view, as one of them said, is, we have studied professionally, what needs to be done. And we think the American people should get out of the way. And let us do it. Now 77% of this group, three out of four, believe that you should coerce the American people into doing the things they want. So in the name of climate change, they would force all of us to buy electric cars, even though only 6% of the American people want to buy one at the same time. They have very strong feelings about politics. And the most politically aware of them, in what Scott Rasmussen said, was the most startling numbers he’d ever seen. 69% of them said they would cheat to win an election. By comparison. 7% of all Americans say that 93% would not cheat. So you have an elite group, willing to steal power if they have to, and wanting to impose on us exactly what they’re doing.
