Republican abortion laws wage war on women’s rights

After the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that overturned Roe v. Wade, Texas criminalized most abortions, imposing penalties up to life in prison for doctors continuing to perform them. According to a new survey, over 70% of practicing OB-GYNs in Texas believe the near-total ban has hindered their ability to provide high-quality care. Recently, the Supreme Court declined to hear a Biden administration challenge to enforce federal guidance in Texas, which would require hospitals to perform abortions if necessary to stabilize a patient’s emergency medical condition.

For example, in Texas, which, by the way, is 50th for maternal mortality, their numbers for deaths of women and children skyrocketed. But that’s not the only chilling cause and effect dynamic. Also, OB-GYNs, they’re leaving. Yep, they’re leaving Texas because, one, they don’t want to go to jail for life, because that is the maximum penalty if you engage in one of these abortion services. But you believe, as a doctor, it is actually for a medical emergency. We have reported on doctors who have refused to treat women in medical emergencies who were pregnant because they did not want to be charged with the crime due to the political nature of the bill, and the bill is ambiguous at best, leaving it up to the interpretation of politicians rather than the actual elements of law.

So there you have it. And what does this do long term? Well, the controversy itself has already had an impact. Less and less students who are going into the medical field, they are now saying they will not do a residency under that particular expertise in the state of Texas. This is how you create even more of a crisis out of a bad situation.

All right, let’s talk about Republicans war, political war against women. There was a time in the Republican party where conservatives actually allowed for advocacy of various groups, in particular, women.

That is no longer the case. Let me give you one of the policies, laws championed by Republicans led by the Maga cult movement,

the banning of abortions.

Now I’m not getting into the religious argument here, I’m going to give you the medical facts
