There’s a remarkable contrast between the recent video released of Hirsch Goldberg Poland, an American who has been captive for Hamas as a hostage for 201 days. And all the students who are demonstrating and yelling and saying we are Hamas, you have to wonder do any of them understand what that means? You also have to wonder, when you begin having demonstrations on 200 different campuses, when suddenly the same kind of tense, the same kind of slogans, the same kind of material start showing up? Exactly where’s the money coming from? Who was organizing all this? And why are the university presidents so cowardly, that they can’t get control of their own campuses. But I think the contrast of an American who has been held hostage by a terrorist organization, which went out of its way to kill people, to seize people who many of whom we apparently believe now have died as hostages, particularly older people who were seized, and it will cap in very unhealthy circumstances,
that kind of brutality by Hamas. And then to see the remarkable, wealthy students at Harvard, or Yale, or Columbia, demonstrating, taking over parts of the campus, defining who can and can’t be there, what is and isn’t acceptable. A New York University students beating up the police. There’s something profoundly wrong going on in America. I think Speaker Johnson was right, in going to Columbia, and demanding that we take back control of our own campuses, I was really reminded of then Governor Ronald Reagan, who took a very strong position, about the students who are writing at Berkeley, and who, in the end, set in the California National Guard, and enforced wall in order on a college campus for the university to officials were not willing to face down the radicals. And the demonstrators were moving back into that kind of an environment. And we were reminded by this sad video, that there are real human beings being held captive against their will, being used as hostages by a terrorist organization, who has a very simple goal, not a single Jew will remain. That’s the official position of Hamas, that all of Israel will be wiped out. And that in fact, that everybody will be forced either to go back to Europe, or America who just killed and I think we have to confront how evil Hamas is, how it proves how evil it is by its actions. And we have to ask for these students. Don’t you feel some embarrassment? Campaigning saying I am Hamas? Do you have any idea Have you studied anything? You know anything about this period? I think this is a very important turning point for America. And the decisions the next few weeks are going to be very, very important.

Protests have sprouted up across America and around the world as the death toll in Gaza continues to climb. Most U.S. protests are peaceful, expressing empathy for Palestinian civilians and supporting calls for a cease-fire. Some journalists, however, have observed antisemitic rhetoric and behavior inside of protest encampments, alarming universities, politicians, and non-profit watchdog groups.
Straight Arrow News contributor Newt Gingrich reviews these developments and concludes that the most radical protesters must not have studied this conflict in much detail. Gingrich accuses some U.S. protesters of being pro-Hamas, and then asks whether or not those protesters even understand what Hamas is or how it intends to accomplish its goals.
And the demonstrators were moving back into that kind of an environment. And we were reminded by this sad video that there are real human beings being held captive against their will, being used as hostages by a terrorist organization, who has a very simple goal: Not a single Jew will remain. That’s the official position of Hamas, that all of Israel will be wiped out. And that in fact, that everybody will be forced either to go back to Europe or America, or just killed.
And I think we have to confront how evil Hamas is, how it proves how evil it is by its actions.
