So here’s a funny fact that I’ve been thinking about the last couple of days. You know how everyone makes this huge deal about Biden being the oldest person elected president. He’s He’s senile, he’s frail, he’s doddering and too ancient for the job, etc. Well, Biden was 78 years old when he took office. Guess how old Donald Trump will be if he wins the next election? 78.
How old would he be by the end of his term? Well, that’s an exciting question to ponder. I think the answer is as old as he wants to be, or at least as old as he is when he finally leaves this mortal coil. Because if he gets in, he’s not leaving. And, and yet, we don’t hear much of anything about Trump’s age. Granted, he is a loudmouth, blustery bully who seems to run on hatred, ego and fear. And that arguably gives him a more youthful effect than his relatively calm, soft spoken counterpart. But the man is not only of comparable age to Biden, his lifestyle is atrocious, between the burgers and then not moving other than to swing a golf club. Something about him makes him seem unsinkable, but trust me he is as human as you or I.
The reason that Republicans are all in on Biden’s age well, you know, plugging their ears and la-la-ing about the age of their presumed nominee is that with Trump, age is not the issue. Crazy is.
I know this is an often repeated joke, but if any of our grandparents were saying the kinds of things that come out of Trump’s mouth on the daily, we would be seriously concerned for their mental health. We certainly wouldn’t hand over the nuclear codes to them. Democrats don’t need to emphasize Trump’s age. That would be like saying, yeah, no, I know the house is on fire, but I think the real problem is that dirty window.
Still, he is — Trump — for all intents and purposes, the same age as Biden. Whether you think that’s an acceptable age for a person to run the country is another question. I’m personally in favor of term limits, but for Republicans to cite Biden’s age as a disqualifier, when, when the real story is, hey, look at what a great job Biden is doing, despite his age. Not to mention, hey, look at this old man who’s a lunatic spouting conspiracy theories and raging about needing to flush toilets 15 times. I mean, it’s a distraction.
Same as with the Hunter Biden thing. Yes, Hunter Biden has probably engaged in criminal behavior and it is not a good look. But how are Republicans citing that as a problem for Biden, when when Trump’s children are worse and more blatant about their criminal enterprises. This extends so far beyond hypocrisy. It’s deliberate obfuscation. When it comes to the age issue, the playing field is unfortunately quite level. The respective mental states of the candidates are a whole other issue. And you know what, on that front, I think I’m gonna give the win to the good human who occasionally stutters over the demagogue who wants to put an end to the American experiment. But that’s just me.

In the upcoming 2024 election, President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump lead in the polls, but both face criticism regarding their age. Biden often receives heightened attention for displaying signs of aging in public, including moments of stuttering and occasional tripping.
Straight Arrow News contributor Jordan Reid wants to remind voters to steer clear of age-related debates and get down to what matters — looking at the character and qualifications of the candidates. Reid argues that it’s crystal clear that Biden is the better pick when compared to Trump.
