Okay, what in the hell is going on? So the New York Police Department set up a camera at a Drake concert and recorded everybody, literally, everybody. And then when they were questioned about it, they acted as if Oh, my goodness, no, that’s not what we were doing. We were doing something for our social media campaign, our public relations campaign. First of all, nobody signed up to be part of your public relations campaign, when they went to see a Drake concert. And also, keep in mind, people pay good money to see this concert, and not be recorded by the police. There’s a reason, ladies and gentlemen, why the government has to follow certain rules. That’s a reason why cops have to follow certain protocol. Here’s the other thing. Do you not find it ironic that the police can go into a concert and just start recording everyday citizens. And there’s no issue from those who are supporting the blue. But the same cops have supported legislation to stop them from being recorded. They don’t want to be recorded by citizens. But they want citizens to be recorded by them. No warrant? No suspicion, nothing. This doesn’t make sense. And then the spin comes from the New York Police Department. Well, this was all just part of a social media campaign, a public relations dynamic. Who signed up for it? Did anybody buy a ticket to the Drake concert? Sign up to be part of a public relations campaign? On behalf of the New York Police Department fail? No. All right. That didn’t happen. Not only is it immoral, in my opinion, it is also unwise. Here’s the thing. Do you just want people not to like you, I’m talking to the police? Do you just want to keep an us and them narrative? And here’s another dynamic here must be highlighted. The fact that we’re so tribal in our politics, it hurts us in moments like this in particular. Why? Because usually, everybody will be on the same side here. This is a no, no, generally, this is not something we would like to have as a normative dynamic, and not everyday living. But because we’re so tribal, in our current political context, we refuse to agree on anything publicly, Democrats, Republicans, no, we’re not going to agree that this is not something we want to do. We should be fighting this together. It is obvious that people are not for it. But let’s dig into it. So an email to Vice News, say the NYPD Information Officer The recording was for some social media purpose. The officer was taking video for an upcoming Twitter post that will highlight local community events. According to the end, why PD? They also say the video will not be utilized for any other reason. Whoa, well, why don’t you just say so in the beginning, of course, you all would never do something like that, because the government is not known to cross the line. Thank you for clarifying. Here’s the thing. The government works for you. The government is paid by your hard earned dollars. The government is accountable to you. Now, let’s go to someone else with a varying opinion here. Albert Fox Khan says ultimately, there is not a single person at that concert who consented to being part of the NYPD. PR strategy. And that is correct. 100% right. There’s precedent ladies and gentlemen, for New Yorkers and their skepticism about cops recording them last November. Remember in New Jersey, New Jersey, New Jersey resident was denied entry to a rocket show at Radio City Music Hall because of what facial recognition technology used by the company that owns the venue. Nobody knew this was happening. But it did. And 2020 NYPD use facial recognition technology to do what to track Black Lives Matter protesters after the police murder George Floyd. This has been utilized routinely by various law enforcement agencies tactics like this. And they have said, Hey, nothing to see here is really insane to believe that individuals would not question this kind of activity. Who do you think we are booboo the fool. So you obviously think we are the mayor of New York? Well, he tried to downplay it saying real New Yorkers do not really feel like this damn lies. As a matter of fact, look at the Twitter feed sir, the people that are antithetical to what this was from New York
