Conservatives must stand united heading into the 2024 election

Democrat and Republican lawmakers navigated a series of significant events in 2023. These included the removal of former Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., discussions about supporting nations in two separate wars, and the ongoing legal proceedings against former President Donald Trump. The upcoming year shows few signs of slowing down as the political divide grows wider and a momentous presidential election looms.

Straight Arrow News contributor Star Parker asserts that as conservatives approach the 2024 election, it is vital they uphold “moral clarity.” Failure to do so, Parker argues, may allow the Left to steer values away from the principles that have historically defined America’s greatness.

So hopefully, reflection on 2023 will serve as a firm reminder on how important 2024 elections are, and also why they are so important. Conservatives cannot afford to fall asleep at the wheel in this next year’s elections. Not the primary, nor the general.

The Left are creative in their depravity. They are insistent on messages of hate. They are dedicated to policies of death and division. It’s not just the matter of wrongs being rights in their eyes. These dark-hearted salesmen want to change wrongs to be right of things that most would never have even considered, that we would even be having a public conversation about.

Men in women’s sports? Neighbors protesting for support of the terrorist organization Hamas? Heartland Ohio voting against the sanctity of unborn life? Conservatives can not afford to repeat the shock and the complacency of 2023 in this new coming year. Republicans began this year divided in the House of Representatives, as chaos and dysfunction led to a lengthy vote for speaker of the House.

Well, thank God. Later, after getting rid of Kevin McCarthy, who is my friend, thank God that they at least landed on an amazing Christian Conservative to lead the House in 2024.

Conservatives must be united. Conservatives must not lose their moral clarity, even when it means confronting populism or libertarianism, even in the GOP.

As the year 2023 comes to a close, it’s a natural instinct to reflect on how the year turned out.

Lately, conservatives have had to make somber notes in reflections of just how far and fast our nation is moving away from the values that made our country great.

One doesn’t need to follow the discouraging headlines to know how troubling this year has been.

Many can feel the effects of the dysfunction right at their home.

Thanks to President Biden and his “Bidenomics,” most Americans are wincing every time they check out at the grocery store.

It’s not only gotten difficult to fill up the gas tank – a record number of people are not even able to afford a car in the first place. Or a house. Or baby formula, or basically anything else. Every decision about money has a pause.

Prices are marked up so high, that stores were basically empty on Black Friday this year. Folks were saying that even with discounts, this stuff costs too much, and I don’t know what to do about Christmas even though now, Christmas is over.

And all the while Biden is cheering, and still trying to make the case that the economy is going up and doing just fine.

It’s no surprise that his poll numbers continue to fall down, much as he himself falls down, literally. It’s just really hard to watch.

Meanwhile, he’s hoping we don’t notice that his son pleaded guilty to federal tax and gun charges.

So hopefully, reflection on 2023 will serve as a firm reminder on how important 2024 elections are, and also why they are so important.

Remember Biden’s “Soul of America” speech? Well this is a battle for the soul of America. The heart and soul of America.

Will patchwork theology work? Is that what’s going to lead the way? Are conservatives really committed to keeping our nation free?

It’s a question on the table. It’s a decision to be made in this new year.

And contemplating as we celebrate the new year.

And if the 2024 elections have the wrong result, it’s almost guaranteed that the ills of 2023 will not even compare to the ugly reality of 2024 and beyond.

But, there is hope, there is always hope. And in that hope we find our energy and our resolve to keep our nation free and able to express that freedom for others all around the world.
