This is getting out of damn control. Herschel Walker, you’re not the police, sir. Once again, Herschel Walker has doubled down to indicate that he is, in fact, law enforcement. This has got to stop, okay. It’s like arguing with a seven-year-old who just received a badge from Fisher Price that the seven-year-old is not actually the police. Now you will at least indulge the…seven-year-old for a period of time, right? Because we know this is a kid.
But Herschel is a grown man. He’s an adult. So how did this start? Herschel Walker, candidate for the U.S. Senate, Republican nominee running against Senator Raphael Warnock out of the state of Georgia. But he decided to run…some videos surfaced, some speeches surfaced, that showed Herschel Walker claiming to be law enforcement. He claimed to be a deputy sheriff. He claimed to work for the Cobb County Police Department. He claimed that he was also an FBI agent. All of these entities have universally said Herschel Walker never was employed by their agency.
And then during the debate with him and Senator Raphael Warnock, when Raphael Warnock posed the question about why he, meaning Walker, was impersonating the police, claiming to be the police. Herschel Walker violated the debate rules, pulled out a fake badge to prove he’s not the fake police. I kid you not.
You see, the badge he pulled out is not a badge that signifies you’re the police. It’s a badge that says you support law enforcement. Basically, any one of us can have one of those badges if the sheriff says, “You’re one of mine…you support me. I’m gonna give you this badge. Typically it’s given to people who contribute money to sheriffs, okay.
But here’s the thing. He pulls out this badge during the debate. The badge he pulled out wasn’t even the badge in question. It was from another county sheriff in the state of Georgia. Remember, the initial claim was about Cobb County making him an officer, which they deny. In the debate, Herschel Walker pulls out a badge from another jurisdiction and then does a video with that other sheriff. But I want to remind everyone that was not the badge in question. And even though it is a badge, it doesn’t give him police powers. Nor does it allow him to flash the badge as if he is the police.
He has also told the police that he is the police, according to a police report that cited the encounter. Now, here’s my conclusion. I actually think Herschel Walker believes he’s probably the police. That’s a problem for me. And it should be a problem for you. If he doesn’t believe he’s the police, the other side of that is what?
That he is so narcissistic, that him being a legendary football player, is not enough to feed his ego. He has to lie about graduating top of class out of high school. He lied about graduating from the University of Georgia. He lied about having a criminal justice degree, and he has lied about being in the police.
This tells me that this person has not found themselves. He lacks integrity, because he lacks identity. He’s willing to be the reflection of whatever is around him in his political base. That is a dangerous reality, especially in this climate.
