US could adjust Russia sanctions over Ukraine talks: US Treasury chief

President Donald Trump may meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin this month to discuss the conflict in Ukraine, as reported by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. Bessent criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for not signing a $500 billion critical minerals deal with the U.S.

Zelenskyy rejected U.S. demands for Ukraine to repay wartime aid in mineral wealth, claiming that the U.S. provided insufficient support.

Bessent noted that Russia could see relief from U.S. sanctions if negotiations to end the war progress positively.
