Tuberville says Republicans shouldn’t vet Trump’s nominees: ‘Not our job’

Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-La., stated that GOP senators should not vet President-elect Donald Trump’s nominees, saying, “That’s not our job to do that.” Tuberville believes Trump is a “better vetter and picker of people” than the U.S. Senate.
Tuberville criticized Republican senators for questioning Trump’s nominees, suggesting it harms Trump’s position. Trump’s transition process has seen its share of difficulties, including his nomination of former Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz for attorney general, Florida sheriff Chad Chronister for the Drug Enforcement Administration, and former Fox News host and veteran Pete Hegseth for secretary of defense.
