Trump orders ‘immediate dismissal’ of boards at West Point, other service academies

President Donald Trump announced the dismissal of the Boards of Visitors for the U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy and Coast Guard. He claimed the military agencies were infiltrated by “woke leftist ideologues.”

Trump’s executive order aims to halt diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in the federal government, which affects military academies.

Current board members include Sens. Joni Ernst and Tammy Duckworth for the Army, and Dan Sullivan and Jeanne Shaheen for the Navy.

Pete Hegseth, Trump’s pick for the Department of Defense, emphasized restoring a focus on war fighting and unity within the military.
