Minnesota Republicans introduce bill to classify ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ as mental illness

Minnesota Senate Republicans have introduced a bill to classify ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ as a mental illness. The bill describes TDS as causing “acute paranoia” in response to President Donald Trump’s policies.

“Symptoms may include Trump-induced general hysteria, which produces an inability to distinguish between legitimate policy differences and signs of psychic pathology in President Donald J. Trump’s behavior,” the proposal reads.

Five Republican politicians drafted the bill to add TDS to mental health definitions in Minnesota law.

The bill is unlikely to be approved due to the split state legislature.
