Idaho becomes first state to authorize firing squads as execution method for convicted pedophiles

Idaho Gov. Brad Little, R, has signed a law allowing the death penalty for individuals convicted of aggravated lewd conduct with children aged 12 and under, effective July 1.
Prosecutors must prove at least 3 of 17 specific factors to seek the death penalty, which includes incidents of abuse or use of force.

State Rep. Bruce Skaug, R, stated that this legislation establishes a strong deterrent against child sexual abuse, asserting that Idaho will not tolerate these offenses. Idaho is now the first state to make firing squads the primary method of execution for convicted pedophiles.
