A House GOP lawmaker, Rep. Brandon Gill, proposed the Golden Age Act to put President Donald Trump’s face on the $100 bill after his term ends. The bill would require the Treasury Department to design the new bill by the end of 2026, with circulation starting in 2029.
Gill stated that replacing Benjamin Franklin with Trump would honor his efforts to benefit the country during his presidency.
“There has been no one who has done more to bring America into the golden age than President Trump,” Gill said Monday. “Featuring him on the $100 bill is a small way to honor all he will accomplish these next four years.”
The legislation faces challenges, as a Democratic filibuster could hinder its progress in the Senate, which requires 60 votes to overcome.
