Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday, July 12, that it is not possible for NATO to continue its partnership with Israel moving forward. Erdogan said NATO support for Israel should be conditional on Israel ending its invasion in Gaza.

At the same time, Turkey is trying to broker the end of the Russia-Ukraine war, with Turkey acting as the primary negotiator between the two countries. Turkey blocked Sweden and Finland, two of Russia’s closest neighbors, from entering NATO for several months.
