DOJ briefs House GOP on internal inquiry into Jack Smith misconduct allegations

The Department of Justice briefed the House Judiciary Committee about an internal investigation into allegations of misconduct in Special Counsel Jack Smith’s office. GOP oversight is increasing, putting pressure on the DOJ to maintain transparency during the investigation.

House Judiciary Committee member Jordan expressed concerns that delays might allow attorneys to evade accountability.

Jordan said a previous briefing into the matter didn’t alleviate concerns, and has asked for the documents by Dec. 18.
