Polls have closed in more states. Right now we’re very closely following a number of key congressional races where Republicans are running non traditional people for seats in the state of Virginia, where there are three vulnerable Democrats, women. In two of those races, it now appears that Republican nominees one a white woman, one a Hispanic woman,
will end up capturing those seats. The third district in Virginia that we’re following is one where a Vietnamese born male is taking on a white woman in a very heavily Democratic district, and it appears he will not succeed in dislodging her. In Rhode Island, Cranston Mayor Allan Fung, a Republican looks like he is going to pick up a seat and become one of the only Republicans representing New England. There are three other possibilities for Republican pickups in Virginia. But it does look like Fung is ahead. Our conclusion so far? The Republican concept of running a more diverse set of candidates appears to be working. Larry Lindsey for straight arrow News.
