One of the most talked about moments from the late Sen. John McCain’s funeral is former President George W. Bush quietly passing candy to Michelle Obama. He did it again just a few months later at his father’s funeral, but this time in a much more conspicuous manner.

George Bush and Michelle Obama have been friends for years. The former first lady appreciated how the Bushes helped her family, particularly her daughters, transition into life in the White House.

Trump and Obama on the other hand have had a less friendly relationship that dates back to Trump’s false birther claims, when he questioned whether Barack Obama was born in America.

Carter’s funeral is the first time all living presidents have been together since 2018, when they gathered for George H.W. Bush’s service at the National Cathedral.
