Reaction to the results of the Virginia gubernatorial election will continue for months as Democrats prepare to show voters they can make progress in Congress and fix the economy. At the same time, Republicans have a new guidebook for a path to victory in the midterms without former President Donald Trump. Glenn Youngkin managed to surprise many political commentators with his win over Democrat Terry McAullife.
Those reactions had many sounding off on Twitter with comments of their own, like this one about CNN political commentator Van Jones:
The most truthful thing anyone on CNN has ever said https://t.co/WVANm2vFoJ

MSNBC was also trending after two of its anchors, Rachel Wallace and Joy Reid, weighed in on Youngkin’s messaging throughout his campaign:
This is INSANE.

Meghan McCain, daughter of the late Sen. John McCain and former co-host of ‘The View’ talk show, also chimed in:
MSNBC is on nothing short of an emotional journey to Narnia tonight… 👀
