Trump raises millions for campaign in days following indictment

Full story

Former President Donald Trump has raised more than $7 million from supporters since his indictment was announced March 30. The first 24 hours following the news, his campaign raised more than $4 million. A quarter of those donations came from first-time donors.

The $7 million raised in four days is a record for the campaign, according to a senior Trump aide.

The money pouring in from Trump supporters suggests reported criminal charges against Trump won’t deter the MAGA fan base. Some polls show it’s done just the opposite.

According to a new ABC poll, 90% of Republicans believe Trump should never have been indicted, and his approval rating has climbed.

Both political parties will use the indictment to their own advantage. Trump plans to address his supporters from his Mar-a-Lago residence following his day in court. He is still the leading candidate for the Republican presidential nomination for 2024.
