We are just five days away from the midterm elections. And both former presidents Trump and Obama are hitting the campaign trail. We’re going to show you where they’re going in a moment. But first take a look at our election integrity page on straight hour news.com. It’s got news updates, it’s got stories that both the conservative and liberal media are missing. And it’s got a voter integrity series by University of Texas Professor Darren Shaw. And finally, perhaps most important, it’s got our election results map and all of the election results on election night are going to be coming in here live. So check it out. So first, let’s start in Iowa, where former President Trump is going to be having a campaign rally tonight for Senator Chuck Grassley and Republican Governor Kim Reynolds. Polls indicate that neither one of these candidates are at risk of losing their seat, but Trump is going there anyway. Then let’s take a look at Arizona because former President Obama was there last night and Trump was there this morning. And it’s got a very important governor’s race between Republican Carrie Lake who’s a former TV news anchor, and the current Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, who’s the Democrat, but it also has a very important Senate race, where incumbent Democrat and Mark Kelly is trying to hold his seat with this challenge from businessman Blake masters. Now throughout the campaign, President Obama has made this all about democracy, and he says democracy is on the ballot. Meanwhile, former President Trump says it’s all about the economy.
We are a failing nation. We are a nation that has the highest inflation in 50 years. And where the stock market finished the worst first half of the year, since 1872.
When true democracy goes away, people get hurt. It has real life consequences. It’s not some abstract political science question. We are all affected. And we take this for granted, and we can’t.
Now on Saturday, it’s going to be a very big day in Pennsylvania because President Biden and both former presidents Trump and Obama are going to be there campaigning. Now this is the governor’s race between Democrat Josh Shapiro and Republican Doug Mastriano. But polls indicate this race is not really close. And Josh Shapiro is going to come out the victor here. But the Senate race is neck and neck and it could go either way between lieutenant governor Governor John Fetterman, who’s the Democrat and Dr. Mehmet Oz who is challenging him as the Republican. This race could very well decide the balance of power in the United States Senate. So it is very important for all Republicans and Democrats to pour as much of their resources into it as they possibly can.
