New York subway shooting suspect Frank James arrested

Frank James, the man wanted for allegedly opening fire on a rush-hour subway train in Brooklyn and shooting 10 people, is in custody, according to reports from ABC News and CNN. Law enforcement sources said James was the only suspect in the 24-hour-long manhunt.

Police had probable cause to arrest James, 62, for the attempted murder of 10 people, a determination made overnight after more than 18 hours of investigation that included video, cellphone data and interviews with witnesses. The U.S. Marshals Service joined the search for James, who was considered a dangerous and wanted fugitive, along with other federal and local agencies.

CNN reported James was arrested by patrol officers in the East Village neighborhood of New York City.
