Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., said “no” when asked if he’s interested in being a 2024 vice presidential candidate. He also previously told reporters that he won’t run for president either, and will focus on winning reelection to the Senate.

Straight Arrow News asked Sen. Hawley about a Daily Caller report that quoted a Trump campaign consultant who said Hawley is not being talked about enough.

“I think Hawley is very, very interested in policy. I think he’s not interested in overshadowing Trump. He looks the part, he’s presentable, he’s pretty good on TV, and unlike Mike Pence, he’s actually aligned ideologically to Donald Trump,” the anonymous Trump consultant said.

Hawley didn’t just say no, he said it over and over.

“No. That was easy, wasn’t it? No, no, but no,” Hawley said.

“So you’re saying there’s a chance,” a reporter asked.

Hawley laughed and responded, “No.”

The article cited other officials close to Trump who said running mate options include Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., and former Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake. One consultant said it seems likely that Trump will pick a woman to join him.
