It’s the social media exchange that no one saw coming… but certainly has the internet talking – Nick Jonas and Elon Musk.
It all started when Musk replied to a post by ‘Tesla Owners Silicon Valley’ saying Tesla is up 100 percent since President-elect Donald Trump won the election.
Musk responded with a GIF of the Jonas Brothers moving a table, captioned “My how the tables have turned.”
Then, Jonas fired back with a photo of Musk pointing and the message, “Take us to the year 3000” … a nod to the Jonas Brothers’ hit song.
The interaction went viral – with nearly 30 million views – as comments flooded in speculating the musician’s apparent support of Musk. While some users celebrated the humor, others were critical of Jonas for engaging with Musk.
One user wrote, “Tweeting at Elon was definitely a choice…”
And another welcomed Nick Jonas aboard.
Nick Jonas isn’t the first celebrity to face backlash for seemingly showing their support for Musk. More recently, Kim Kardashian posted a video last month promoting Tesla’s humanoid robot.
Followed by photos posing with her Tesla that ignited similar debates.
As for Jonas, his post remains up, but the timing has raised eyebrows for a few. In June, we heard he was returning to Broadway for a revival of “The Last Five Years.” With the industry still reeling from Hollywood strikes and heightened scrutiny of public figures’ political views, some commented wondering if this viral moment could impact his box office appeal.
