Hillary Clinton is supporting a progressive political group that claims Republicans are planning a coup in 2024. The group is trying to make the case that the MAGA movement has a plan to steal the 2024 presidential election and that state legislators must be elected in six key states this midterm election to stop it.

“I’m here to highlight something that is keeping me up at night,” Clinton said in a video posted to Twitter.

The group Clinton is supporting is called Crush the Coup, and it’s financially supported by the group Indivisible Action. Crush the Coup’s concern revolves around the “independent state legislature theory” and the Supreme Court case Moore v. HarperThe justices will determine whether state courts can nullify and replace regulations for federal elections put in place by legislatures. The “independent state legislature theory” states only elected legislators have the authority to regulate federal elections and state courts cannot interfere.

Clinton and Crush the Coup argue if the Supreme Court rules in favor of the state legislature theory then Republican controlled legislatures could overturn the results in their states.

“Right wing extremists already have a plan to literally steal the next presidential election. And they’re not making a secret of it,” Clinton stated in the video.

But critics said Clinton is questioning the results of an election before it even happens and possibly spreading misinformation.

The organization is targeting 29 districts which it believes will help either flip those state legislatures or prevent Republicans from winning a super majority. That target list includes six districts in Arizona, five in Wisconsin, three in Michigan, five in Pennsylvania, four in North Carolina and six in Georgia.

They say the MAGA movement has a plan to steal the 2024 presidential election, and they need to get state legislators elected in these six states this midterm election to help stop it.

It all revolves around the Independent State Legislature theory and the Supreme Court case Moore v. Harper.  The justices will determine whether state courts can nullify and replace regulations for federal elections put in place by legislatures. The independent state legislature theory says only elected legislatures have the authority to regulate federal elections and state courts cannot interfere.

There six total in Arizona. There are five seats in Phoenix including two in the fourth legislative district, and one in Tucson.

There are five districts in Wisconsin that cover the state from the south east corner in Kenosha all the way up north in Superior.

In Michigan there are two districts in Detroit and one in Bay City.

There are five races in Pennsylvania ranging from Philadelphia all the way to Alleghany County and the Pittsburgh area.

Four contests in North Carolina, they go from Raleigh to just outside Charlotte.

Finally there are six districts in Georgia. All of them are near Atlanta and the surrounding counties. Straight from DC, I’m Ray Bogan.
