CHARLIE BROWN: Good grief.
SIMONE DEL ROSARIO: THERE’S JUST NO RELIEF.
FOOD IS PROVING TO BE ONE OF THE MOST PERSISTENT AND PAINFUL PARTS OF INFLATION NOW THAT ENERGY IS COOLING OFF.
AND OH YEAH, IT’S ONE AREA WE SIMPLY CAN’T AVOID. WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO, NOT EAT?
FOOD AT HOME IS UP 13.5% ON THE YEAR, THE LARGEST 12-MONTH INCREASE SINCE 1979.
EVEN AS TRANSPORTATION COSTS EASE, WAR, DROUGHT AND DISEASE ARE STILL A FACTOR FOR HIGH FOOD PRICES.
BUT HOW YOU PERCEIVE FOOD INFLATION, MAY BE SWAYED BY YOUR VOTING RECORD.
WHILE A LIBERAL AND CONSERVATIVE WILL PAY THE SAME AMOUNT AT THE GROCERY STORE, THE POLITICAL DIVIDE IS SEEPING IN TO YOUR PERCEIVED REALITY, ACCORDING TO A NEW STUDY OUT OF PURDUE UNIVERSITY.
THE COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE FOUND THAT LIBERALS ARE SEVERELY UNDERESTIMATING THE INCREASE IN FOOD PRICES FROM THE LAST YEAR…AND CONSERVATIVES ARE LIKELY OVERSTATING ITS RATE FOR THE COMING YEAR.
THAT’S PROBABLY BECAUSE WHILE BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE HAVE THE SAME EXACT DATA, THE REACTIONS ARE VERY DIFFERENT.
WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY KARINE JEAN-PIERRE: We saw some welcome moderation in price for food at the grocery store it’s moderating.
PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: this bill cut costs for families.
GOP CHAIRWOMAN RONNA MCDANIEL: How does joe biden have a celebratory speech as those numbers come out knowing that people are hurting.
SEN. JOHN KENNEDY: The inflation we have today was made in washington by the biden administration and the things they’re doing are going to make it worse.
SIMONE DEL ROSARIO: WITH THE MIDTERM ELECTION LESS THAN TWO MONTHS AWAY, THE MESSAGING WILL ONLY GET LOUDER.
I’M SIMONE DEL ROSARIO AND IT’S JUST BUSINESS
