SPORTS ILLUSTRATED IS MAKING HISTORY AGAIN.

BY PUTTING THE FIRST TRANSGENDER WOMAN WHOSE ALSO THE FIRST TRANSGENDER  WOMAN OF COLOR, LEYNA BLOOM ON THE COVER OF THEIR MAGAZINE.

SPORTS ILLUSTRATED SAYS ITS COVER OF THE FIRST TRANS WOMAN IS A RESULT OF BLOOMS’ “LIFETIME DEDICATION TO FORGING HER OWN PATH.”

MANY FIND THE HONOR HIGHLY CONTROVERSIAL AND ARE GOING OFF ON SOCIAL MEDIA WHILE MANY OTHERS APPLAUD IT.

HERE’S WHAT THEY’RE TWEETING:

WHILE ONE SAYS CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION ANOTHER ONE SAYS THIS IS HISTORIC FOR THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY WHILE THIS ONE QUESTIONS WHETHER ITS PROGRESS OR EXPLOITATION.

ASIDE FROM MAKING HISTORY FOR THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY, BLOOM IS ALSO AN ACTRESS. SHE CAN BE SEEN ON THE FX SHOW “POSE” AND THE FILM “ASKING FOR IT”.

EARLIER THIS YEAR, BLOOM WAS FEATURED INSIDE THE MAGAZINE.

NOW THAT SHE IS ON THE COVER, WHAT DO YOU THINK?

LET US KNOW IN THE COMMENTS BELOW.
