Full story

A new book by journalist Bob Woodward, titled “War,” alleged that President Joe Biden expressed candid frustrations about his former boss, former President Barack Obama. Biden allegedly partially blamed Obama for the war in Ukraine, according to excerpts from the book set to be released next week.

Excerpts obtained by CNN first reveal that Biden reportedly told a friend, “They f—ed up in 2014. That’s why we are here. We f—ed it up. Barack never took [Russian President Vladimir] Putin seriously.”

Biden allegedly expressed concern that Obama’s administration failed to act decisively during the 2014 Crimea crisis.

Another excerpt from the book has Biden saying, “We did nothing. We gave Putin a license to continue! Well, I’m revoking his f—ing license!”

The book also suggests that Biden had a sharp tongue during discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In conversations about escalating tensions in the region, Biden reportedly scolded Netanyahu

“Bibi, what the f—?” Biden allegedly said. “You know the perception of Israel around the world increasingly is that you’re a rogue state, a rogue actor.”

Additionally, the book accuses Biden of being frustrated with his own administration, particularly regarding Attorney General Merrick Garland and the ongoing legal troubles of his son, Hunter Biden.

“Should never have picked Garland,” Biden reportedly told a confidant. “This is never going to f—ing go away,” in response to the charges against his son.

Biden and the White House have not responded to the allegations made in Woodward’s book.
