Straight To It: Debt ceiling update, governors heading south, and a Texas school shooting

Shannon’s picks for Wednesday, October 6 include:

  • The debt ceiling debacle could be coming to an end, now that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has proposed a solution. The procedural vote has been postponed while Democrats consider the offer.
  • 10 Republican governors are heading to Texas to witness the crisis at the border themselves. It’s all in an effort to pressure President Biden into acting on the crisis.
  • A shooting took place at Timberview High School in Arlington, Texas. Four people were injured and three were hospitalized, according to police. The suspect is now in custody.
