KARAH RUCKER: THE PENTAGON WANTS ANSWERS.BOEING AIRCRAFT EMPLOYEES WERE FOUND TO BE WORKING ON CURRENT AND **FUTURE AIR FORCE ONE PLANES WITHOUT THE PROPER SECURITY CLEARANCE TO DO SO.
SECURITY CREDENTIALS ARE NEEDED FOR ANYONE WORKING ON AIRCRAFT THAT WILL BE USED BY THE PRESIDENT AND THE U.S. GOVERNMENT.
YET THE PENTAGON FOUND ABOUT 250 OF THESE BOEING EMPLOYEES HAD CREDENTIALS THAT EXPIRED MONTHS OR YEARS AGO. AT LEAST ONE CASE HAD CREDENTIALS THAT EXPIRED SEVEN YEARS AGO.
ALL OF THE EMPLOYEES AT ONE TIME DID HAVE THE PROPER CREDENTIALS TO WORK ON CLASSIFIED PROJECTS – SO THE PENTAGON BELIEVES IT WILL BE A PROBLEM QUICKLY RESOLVED.
BOEING IS THE ONE WHO REPORTED THE SECURITY-CLEARANCE LAPSE TO GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS – CALLING IT AN ADMINISTRATIVE ISSUE AND PROMISING TO TREAT THE SECURITY OF PRESIDENTIAL AIRCRAFT WITH THE HIGHEST PRIORITY.
FOR NOW – EMPLOYEES WITH EXPIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SIDELINED. NO LONGER WORKING ON CURRENT OR FUTURE PROJECTS FOR AIR FORCE ONE.
