Thursday, President Joe Biden asked unvaccinated Americans, “What more do you need to see? We’ve made vaccinations free, safe, and convenient.” He continued, “We’ve been patient, but our patience is wearing thin. And your refusal has cost all of us.” Biden then went on to announce six new vaccination guidelines and requirements.

Some of his announcement was expected, but one part took some people by surprise. Biden announced, “The Department of Labor is developing an emergency rule to require all employers with 100 or more employees, that together employ over 80 million workers, to ensure their workforces are fully vaccinated or show a negative test at least once a week.”

The reaction on this has been polarizing.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott tweeted, “Biden’s vaccine mandate is an assault on private businesses.”

Virginia’s Senior Senator Mark Warner, going the other way, tweeting, “I’m glad to know that the President is
using every tool at his disposal to boost vaccination rates and save lives.”

It isn’t just politicos weighing in, filmmaker Errol Webber compared Biden to a tyrant, tweeting, “The
Biden Regime is now instituting an unconstitutional vaccine mandate, strong-arming private businesses,
affecting some 80 million Americans.”

Progressive filmmaker Michael Moore tweeted, “Mandatory vaccinations! YES! The unvaccinated are
killing us. BRAVO, Mr. President!”

The business world also responded, as many of them will be directly impacted by the executive order.

Business Roundtable, a group of American CEOs including Chevron, Caterpillar and Citigroup issued a
statement saying in part, “America’s business leaders know how critical vaccination and testing
are in defeating the pandemic.”

On the other hand, the Federal Law Enforcement Officers association issued a statement saying “This
executive order villainizes employees for reasonable concerns and hesitancies.”
