Attorney General Pam Bondi warned those vandalizing Tesla vehicles and dealerships that the Justice Department will launch investigations into the recent attacks on Elon Musk’s electric vehicle company.
“If you’re gonna touch a Tesla, go to a dealership, do anything, you better watch out because we’re coming after you,” Bondi said in an interview with Fox Business Friday, March 14.
According to Bondi, one person is now behind bars facing up to 20 years in prison after throwing a Molotov cocktail through a dealership. Bondi says police across the U.S. are investigating vandalism and attacks, including another incident where gunshots were fired at a Tesla showroom.
The website “Tesla Takedown” has become a hub for people protesting Musk’s budget cuts and mass firings of federal workers as part of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Bondi said they’re targeting Musk for his political affiliation.

President Donald Trump said earlier this week he’d be open to labeling those who attack Tesla as domestic terrorists.
“We already know who some of them are; we are going to catch them. If you do it to any company, we will catch you, and you are gonna go through hell,” Trump said at the White House.
On Wednesday, March 12, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., posted to X, “The attacks must be investigated as domestic terrorism.” Greene added she and her colleagues sent a letter to Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel asking for the Justice Department investigation.
