Shannon Longworth: After plotting a violent disruption of an Idaho pride event over the weekend, 31 men are being arraigned in court today.
They’re all reportedly members of a white supremacist group called the Patriot Front…
And they face several misdemeanor charges, including conspiracy to riot, according to the Couer d’Alene Sheriff’s Office..
The men were arrested on Saturday after officers pulled over the rental truck they were riding in.
And it turns out the suspects are from different parts of the country.
Chief Lee White | Coeur d’Alene Police Department: “I will tell you what, it appeared to be very similar to an operations plan that a police or military group would put together for day’s of, for an event. There was multiple shields — they were all wearing hats that had plastic inside them. Shin guards, shields. Things of that nature.”
Shannon Longworth: The Patriot Front is a *national* group that vandalizes and demonstrates with the intention to intimidate minorities.
According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Patriot Front formed after the 2017 “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Its founder was one of the 31 men arrested.
