Notre Dame staff, students fight to keep Chick-fil-A off campus

Chicken franchise Chick-Fil-A is making the news and it’s not because of its food or customer service.

In an open letter sent to the University of Notre Dame dining staff, over 100 students opposed the fast food chain coming on campus.

The letter states many reasons for not wanting the Christian-based fast-food restaurant on campus, including “its anti-LGBTQ+ activism, reliance on animal agriculture, and lack of accommodations for students with special dietary needs, to name a few.”

Students wrote, “Bringing Chick-fil-A to campus would run contrary to Notre Dame’s commitment to inclusion and desire to create good in the world. So, we ask that you remove Chick-fil-A from your considerations and instead consider other additions to our retail dining.”

South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham responded to the students’ letter on Twitter:

It’s unclear how the university plans to respond to the students’ demands.
