Queen Elizabeth to Parliament, primary elections end, R. Kelly jury deliberations


On Sept. 14, 2022, Queen Elizabeth’s coffin will travel to Parliament where it will remain until her funeral, the 2022 primary season wraps up with all eyes ahead on the midterm election, and jury deliberations are underway in R. Kelly’s child pornography trial.

Queen Elizabeth leaves Buckingham Palace – Queen Elizabeth is set to leave Buckingham Palace for the last time today. Thousands have gathered in London for a procession of her coffin from the palace to Westminster Hall at Parliament. The queen will lie in state for four days until her funeral Monday.

2022 primary season officially ends – The 2022 primary season is now in the books after primaries in three northeastern states took place Tuesday. In Rhode Island, Democratic Gov. Dan McKee narrowly won his primary to avoid becoming the first sitting governor to not make the general election since 2018. In Delaware, state Auditor Kathy McGuiness, D, lost her primary as she awaits sentencing on corruption charges. In New Hampshire, it remains too close to call the Republican Senate primary. All eyes are now on the midterm election.

Jury deliberations underway in R. Kelly trial – We could hear a verdict in R. Kelly’s federal trial as soon as today after the jury began its deliberations on Tuesday. Jurors are considering 13 separate counts accusing Kelly of producing child pornography, enticing minors for sex and rigging his 2008 child porn trial.
